On Board the Amandira

Whoever said that Friday the 13th is a bad day, clearly lied. Last Friday, I spent the lovely day cruising the Amandira yacht. It was a dream come true to be on the majestic 52 meter, custom-built, two-masted phinisi sailing yacht by the Aman group.

Being Indonesian, I was always fascinated by the sea, volcanoes and the abundant beauty of the archipelago. When I first went sailing, 8 years ago, I felt like I was on an adventure film and my love for sailing boats began, to the the extent I wore a costume inspired by one of Indonesia’s master creation, the Phinisi, in representing Indonesia for Miss Universe.

The mini cruise started from the Serangan Harbour, and sailed around the coast of Bali. We were greeted by the 14 crew members before cruise director took us on a quick tour followed by snacks, lunch and a foot massage on board. It was short and sweet and I can’t wait to go on my next sailing adventure.
