Quotes from Centenarians for Longevity

Currently, almost every morning while I walk on the treadmill, I listen to ‘Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life’ audiobook by Francesc Miralles and Héctor Garcia. When I reached the part where they shared words of wisdom from the longest living people, I found it so interesting, important and somehow soothing that I started typing away on my notes. In a way, the point most of them make is that in order to live a long life, you have to not take life too seriously, which seems kind of counterintuitive. While we stress ourselves out trying to be the healthiest, most productive and successful version our ourself. Here are some quotes that you can save and read the next time you are working so hard on yourself.

Eating sushi and sleeping.
I’ve never eaten meat in my life. I’m happy and I give thanks to God who keeps me going. I never thought id live so long, I thought I’d die long ago.
Everything’s fine.
If you keep your mind and body busy, you’ll be around for a very long time.
Never be afraid to die, because you are born to die.
